Mexico City has been on our travel list for years, and I’m so glad we finally made it. We decided to stay in Condesa, and honestly, it was the perfect choice. This charming neighborhood has such a relaxed vibe, with a mix of old-world elegance and modern energy that makes you want to explore every corner.

From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the stunning 100-year-old palm trees that line the streets. The beautiful Art Deco buildings give Condesa a timeless feel — you can tell this place has history, but it’s alive and evolving. The sidewalks are shaded by lush trees, making it the perfect place to wander without feeling rushed.

One of our favorite spots was the gorgeous Parque México. It’s the heart of the neighborhood, where locals gather to walk their dogs, chat with friends, and simply enjoy the day. Sitting on a bench and people-watching with a coffee in hand was the kind of simple pleasure that makes you feel connected to a place.

We also did the Hop-On Hop-Off tour, which was a fantastic way to get a feel for the city. It took us to all the major highlights, including the Frida Kahlo Museum in Coyoacán (her blue house is every bit as beautiful and inspiring as you'd imagine), the impressive Chapultepec Castle, the world-famous Museo Nacional de Antropología, and the vibrant Zócalo.. But here’s a tip: go in the morning! Traffic in the afternoon can be brutal, and sitting in a jam while trying to sightsee isn’t exactly fun.

Once we’d hit the major sights, we found that using Uber was the easiest and most affordable way to get around. It’s reliable, safe, and much more comfortable than navigating the busy streets by taxi or by bus.  And speaking of coffee — we definitely indulged! Condesa is packed with cute coffee shops and incredible restaurants. Every meal felt like a discovery, from cozy taco spots to more upscale dining restaurants. But the highlight? The churros. Oh my gosh — crispy, warm, and dipped in three types of melted chocolate. Absolute heaven.

Condesa felt like the perfect blend of local life and visitor-friendly charm. It’s vibrant but not overwhelming, stylish but not pretentious. We left feeling like we’d gotten a glimpse of everyday life in Mexico City — and it made us want to come back and explore even more.
